Employees & Company Donate to Community Center 2018 Summer STEAM Program

Former US Army Specialist (Infantry – 101st Airborne Division) and Afghanistan War Veteran, Brad Steese (picture above on right), currently serving as Program Coordinator at the Charles A. Melton Community Center (West Chester, PA) graciously accepts charitable donation of $6000 to assist in funding the Summer STEAM Program from Patrick Clark (pictured below on left), Technical Sales Representative at BioSafe Systems, LLC on behalf of over 30 employees and the company’s generous monetary match.

The Charles A. Melton Arts and Education Center, located in West Chester, PA, has a mission “to contribute to the quality of life for all people of the West Chester community by continuing its long commitment of providing educational, recreational, cultural, and civil services.” This mission began in 1934 with the construction of the primary structure, and this mission continues today with services, such as the 2018 Summer STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, & Mathematics) program.

This Summer program is intended to immerse at-risk youth to STEAM education through a six-week course designed to develop and cultivate interest in the STEAM fields through hands-on learning, STEAM education, and field trips to prepare students for high school and college level STEAM education. Although, the non-profit community center and this program rely solely on donations from the public to fund such services. This is where local resident, Patrick Clark, and BioSafe Systems employees reached out to fellow co-workers and the company for help raising funds for the 2018 Summer STEAM program. Without hesitation, BioSafe Systems sent out a company-wide email outlining the program and their funding needs. The response was immense and quick. Company employees, with a corporate match, raised a $6000 donation for the program.

Patrick Clark said, “this is an example of a company and employee base that not only cares for the environment through its professional capacities, but also values community, education, and children.”

EAST HARTFORD, CT – BioSafe Systems is excited to announce the newest member of our team, Bill Flynn. Bill, whose home base is in Arizona, has a technical focus on post-harvest solutions and food safety. A lifelong resident of the desert southwest, Bill and his wife, Kristin, raised their four children just minutes from the agricultural fields of Ventura County, CA. My plan is to show growers and processors the positive ROI from doing the right thing systematically in a sustainable fashion.”
