What is OxiPhos's mode of action?
Potassium salts of phosphorus acid, also called potassium phosphite, metabolize inside the plants into phosphorus acid. Phosphorus acid inhibits oxidative phosphorylation in the metabolism of oomycetes and blocks essential pathogen enzymes limiting pathogen growth directly.
Hydrogen peroxide, upon contact with pathogens, oxidizes components of cell membrane resulting in increased cell permeability and eventual death.
How should OxiPhos be used?
OxiPhos is designed for use on crops, turf and ornamentals with proven efficacy against oomycete pathogens including pythium (root rots/blight), phytophthora and downy mildew. OxiPhos is an excellent tank mix partner with other chemistries and has been shown to increase overall pesticide effectiveness. It’s compatible with OxiDate 2.0, OxiDate 5.0 and can be used throughout the growing season for prevention and control of plant diseases, plus approved for postharvest applications on select crops to extend shelf life and storability by managing rot in storage.
