Mode of Action
When B. bassiana spores come into contact or are ingested by insect pests, they quickly germinate, penetrate the external skin (cuticle), and reproduce inside the body, killing the pest within 3–5 days. After death, the host becomes a vector for spore production adding further control to BioCeres EC applications.
How Should BioCeres EC Be Used?
BioCeres EC is an ideal product for integrated pest management programs. It effectively controls all life stages of many insect species and helps prevent or slow the development of insecticide resistance in pest populations. This biopesticide utilizes a fungus that grows naturally in soil throughout the world and acts as an insect pathogen. BioCeres EC should be applied at the first sign of a pest infestation for best results. Newly hatched insects are most suscep-tible to infection by the Beauveria bassiana fungus. For optimal performance ensure thorough coverage.
