Sprayers, Foggers, and Foamers for Optimum Crop Protection

By Hannah Rouillard

In any industry, the tools you use are an important aspect of preparation, user safety, and making smart economic choices to maintain your operation. BioSafe Systems has a comprehensive list of equipment we’ve added to and improved for 2024. We have varying sizes and means of applying our chemistry and professional technicians who can help make the most of our equipment. Our tools and technology maximize the reach of your chemistry from top to bottom: work surfaces, walls, drains, equipment, tools, and the plants themselves.

Effective chemistry can only help protect an operation from pathogens and pests if you can get it into the nooks and crannies of your facility. Thoroughly covering hard surfaces is vital to complete sanitation, and making sure the plant’s foliage gets covered is essential to control pathogens and insects when facing an infestation and as a pre-emptive measure. Cleaning and sanitizing both at the same time is ideal.

The sprayers and foggers work well with BioSafe Systems’ products like ZeroTol® 2.0, AzaGuard®, OxiPhos®, and TerraGrow® Liquid. Our sprayers and foggers can be used with our foliar program and they’re available with a 10, 20, or 30-gallon tank. They come with a 30-foot hose to hook up to your compressor and an ergonomic handle to comfortably control the chemical application. Our spray tip kit allows users to tune their pressure and pattern to their preferences.

The quality of materials used to disperse chemistry in facilities also contributes to the quality of treatment. Our equipment is specifically designed to handle the formulation of products like ZeroTol® 2.0 and our SaniDate® 5.0 because they’re made of acids and oxidizers. The peroxyacetic acid and hydrogen peroxide in these products are exactly what makes this chemistry so effective but can also wear out a sprayer that isn’t rated for it. Our technical representative Kip Dalpe says, “These applicators are specified to be commercial grade. They’re about as bullet-proof as you can get’em.”

Our collection of foggers is made to treat large spaces quickly. A 10-gallon fogger can cover 40,000 cubic feet in about an hour and our 20-gallon can handle up to 80,000 cubic feet in under two hours. Fogging chemistry like ZeroTol® 2.0 provides the dual benefit of hitting the plants and the room at the same time, “which is great with BioSafe Systems’ products because [our chemistry] dries off without residues.” said Kip, who has worked with BioSafe Systems for ten years.

The equipment piece we call the “go-to” for cleaning is our BioFoamers. They’ve been a popular piece for 15 years, especially for surface cleaning. Our foamers come in seven sizes and can be used for spot treatments and professional applications that can throw foam twenty to thirty feet in the air at about twenty gallons per minute. When you foam SaniDate® 5.0 chemistry, it gets the ideal 10-minute contact time with enhanced coverage and contact. The personal protective equipment requirements are more relaxed because the foam dampens down any odors and vapors.

Most exciting, this year we added a new model of foamer that allows users to finally cut the cord. For 2024, we are bringing out a lithium, rechargeable battery-operated foamer that holds ten gallons and runs for a continuous forty-five minutes. It has a 12-foot hose and your choice of handle, either ball valve style or ergonomic pistol. Having flexibility in applying chemistry means cleaning and sanitizing programs can be modified to meet the specific needs of a facility and operation. Effective chemistry applied with the right coordinating equipment is what maximizes protection and preparation. Contact us to request a 2024 equipment brochure.
